I have also been taking many, many courses in psychology, to become more trauma informed.
I took more classes in Ancestral Healing, Writing with the Ancestors, even re took courses in AH because I am different now, than I was then.
I just finished a few courses in IFS (Internal Family systems) and I use all of this in my work now. Just started another course!
More than that, I wanted to study trauma, and the treatment of it, to better help my clients. In the quest to become more trauma informed, I learned a lot about myself, including the fact that I have been a people pleaser, a fawner, as a trauma response.
We all have some response, whether fight or flight, collapse, etc, and they worked for us then, even now, but I have been learning to curb it, to speak out, to value my own needs first.
That is a lot harder than it sounds, and as I continue to do that, all of my inner parts (IFS) feel a lot safer.
All parts are being explored, nourished, validated, and are coming into present time.
This helps me to be a better person, a better friend, and a better healer, reader, practitioner.
The other thing I have done in this past year, was to get two housemates, in the form of Burmese kittens (who are now a bit over one year old. I have loved and been the caretaker of many Burmese in my life; they are my favorite, in their intelligence and loving capacity.
The preparation of my home for two whirlwind Tasmanian devils to arrive helped to bring my house into present time, and my home into present time.
Terrys office room, which was in the middle of the house itself, got a complete makeover, and is now the boyz room, an office, and an extra bedroom for guests.
I painted it, and my own bedroom, completely different colors than my normal, and completely decluttered them.
That, and the sweet addition of this bonded pair, were the perfect medicine.
I am still committed to being the best healer I can be, and the best teacher, but I needed to upgrade, and let go of worn out beliefs, habits, and limits, and add more joy, and delight in between my work.
I also had a small drum circle at my home, weekly, or every other week, over the summer. It was wonderful, I learned a lot as well as went deeper into my practice.
The boyz were in the room each week, as they love being in between worlds, and they see so much! They will lay next to someone while they journey, or climb on someone’s heart right after they received a soul retrieval, and are in the quiet space of receiving and expanding that light.
Worth expressing also, is that I have done quite a bit of both energy work, and fundraising for the Palestinian people, in the midst of a genocide in their beautiful country.
I raised a good deal of funds by offering past life readings to people, and a healing, that had to do with war. When you died in a war. were the abuser in a war. Lost a child. Were a child killed in a war. Watched your family die. Both sides.
So much. healing, to bring up these hidden traumas that run us, or shadow us, and gently hold space for, and heal.
The monies raised went to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.
I also did (and do) energy work, and ancestral work in that regard.
I work on the astral, both for Palestine, and before that, for Ukraine.
Oh the stories I could tell.
Mostly, I show up as a tiny ball of light, and go to where there is a team that tells me what is needed to be done.
In Ukraine, especially in the beginning, I was to stay at the train station, helping people find each other, helping lost pets find their owners, helping someone get safely on the correct train to meet up with loved ones, etc.
It was such a panic, and how can you leave your home without taking your cat or dog with you?
In Palestine, I was mostly at a hospital called Al Shifa. I would be asked to protect a doorway, or entertain the children, or keep the electricity on (or off). Simple tasks.
Watching it be destroyed with people inside was one of the hardest things.
Seeing the selflessness of these hungry and traumatized people, the caring of others, was the best.
The rest of my year was making and maintaining a big garden, many fruit trees, and planting many more, and putting up fences to keep cats in, racoons and coyotes out. There is much maintenance of 3/4 acre and 3 buildings, which I am honored to do. My favorite pine tree had to be cut down, but a bench was made from her trunk, and 5 pine seedlings are the hope of her future.
This was a strange year where there were deer coming in, eating everything.
My clumsy attempts at keeping them out of the garden, etc. would only work for a few days, and then there was another location to barricade. A bit like Coyote and Road Runner! I had a great harvest, and shared a couple of gallons of apple cider with friends, for my birthday celebration.
And now, here we are, passing the Autumnal Equinox, and it has been raining outside today, and a Pacific Chorus frog outside my door is calling out in the joy of humidity.
The eclipses that came and went showed us the true meaning of being in both light, and dark, and the importance of that.
I am so grateful for you all, and I hope I can help in some way, with clarity from a reading or balance and freedom from a healing session.
Please feel free to read other articles I have written, as there are good tools in there for you.
Blessings, and bright moments!
