Enjoy, lighten up, and please find your sense of humor about some
of your heaviest issues… it may not change the issues, but it will change your
relation to it, and as you lessen the resistance to it, and can laugh about it,
you just may find some answers were waiting for you, hiding in the bushes, about
to ambush your staunch seriousness. OK, really, now, what can you find in that
problem of yours that may be just the tiniest bit funny? Make the perceived
problem huge; overplayed to the point of extremes! Bump up against the edge of
your stance about it; that big ego stance. Make your fears huge, like giant
sails, or dinosaurs. Do a stomping monster dance, and be your biggest fear.
Make big noises, and gestures, like a giant tsunami wave, engulfing you and
your entire life. Now add some cartoon to the mix. And release. And
breathe.
The drama energy can be like something going in a straight line,
like an arrow. a serious arrow. It doesn’t have much choice to change. You can
lighten it up, in an instant, and it can be just the thing to diffuse the bomb,
rendering it harmless, or at least, less serious. Have a good belly laugh
(preferably with a friend), wipe those tears, release those clinging fears, and
start some action, in a more positive note…or, just let go of the notion of it
being a problem at all! “Reframing” can do wonders for your optimism, and by
lightening up, it can be enlightening!!
I leave you with one last funny video short…from the levity guru
himself, Swami Beyondananda
