shift (this was written at the end of 2012, but in present time, you can use the thrust of the summer solstice), and bring that light into everything you do. The routines of your life, from work and home life, even how you travel, and self care, these are patterns
that have been grooved into your consciousness. The changes you want to see can
start with those small places too. For example, maybe when you take a shower,
you go a little unconscious, and start thinking about your future plans (and
leave your body), or your thoughts turn sour, and aren’t about loving and
healing yourself. Slow down a bit to see the patterns. This is where the real
changes begin. Start to get into the feeling place of who you want to become,
and how great it is to already have that accomplishment. Let your self talk be kind,
loving, and supportive. Or change a pattern while you are driving to and from
work. Maybe a different route, or maybe sing loud to some funky music (if you
don’t already do that). Learn a new language. Or get into the feeling place of
the new changes you are accelerating in your new year. These will jumpstart the
magic, so that the ACTION YOU TAKE in your precious life will go far.
Courage doesn’t come to you; YOU grab it by the ears. It will
sometimes be in the form of a quiet but firm “NO”. It could be in the click of a
“confirm” button on your computer, purchasing that plane ticket, or meditation
course, or e-mail that will repair a relationship. Courage is not the lack of
fear, but feeling the fear, and doing it anyway.
The story that you’re living is the story you keep telling
yourself, over and over. Start telling yourself a better feeling story ~~~AB Hicks
Trust yourself. Trust the big picture, and don’t be afraid to
make mistakes. Make a few, just to get over it.
Aaahhhhh!! Are you over it yet? Shall we make another?
Get an accountability buddy. This has helped me immensely on my
path. Showing up to your own life, and being present, in all the little changes, is crucial,
because the small changes add up. Having a support system is so important in
getting started, and that outward responsibility and integrity will help as you grow your
own inward support system. Being accountable will help ground your fledgling project.
What can also help in this squeaky clean new year of creating
good changes, is to have a good, old fashioned bitching session! Do it when you
are alone, and can make a lot of noise. You can either take a pillow off the
couch, and beat the couch with it as you complain how you can’t accomplish it,
or how hard this is, or spew anger about it. Amazing things will come out of
your mouth during these sessions; some crazy fear, or resentment that needed to
be heard, some aspect of yourself not being addressed. Breakthroughs can happen
for you here! Just remember to acknowledge them, and let them go, and remember
your goal, and the feeling place of already having
it.
You can also have this conversation while driving…you in the
driver’s seat can talk to the you in the passenger seat that has a hard time
making the change, or is afraid. Show them the big picture of what you want, and
how it will help your life. Be clear, be the driver. Just be careful driving,
and pretend you’re singing, or talking on the phone, when other drivers are
staring at you!
These tips will work wonders if you use them regularly. Get your
accountability buddy today! Love yourself through the process, and start acting
as if. Think of a bad habit that you no longer do. See how it’s just not a part
of your life anymore? Awareness changes up your habits, to put the new you in
there. Whatever you pay attention to grows. As you clear, adjust, and align your
new habit into your life, you will become it!
