Using neutrality as a tool
I am so grateful for the life tools that I have learned along the path, that have helped me in my life. One of those tools is to understand energy, and to be neutral to it. It is, after all, just, energy.
It’s all, just energy.
It’s a simple axiom, but when we discover, how much of our vital life force gets locked up in our fears, and beliefs, in our expectations,
even in our guarding and protecting. I mean, we can still have all these things, but just pull your energy out of them. Deflate them of our vital life force, and pull it back into ourselves, as simple, pure essence.
It can be life changing, even life saving, to do this. Blood pressure, and the fight or flight reflex can slow down, and in a softer moment, you may get an answer for yourself. Or laugh at yourself!
Or, see the situation for what it is, and you can act, or be, from a fresh, clean perspective.
Ahhh.
We all have these moments, where fear, or ego rush in, and it becomes so locked, the energy has no place to move. Energy can get cornered, and can get very, very, stuck. The energy (not YOU, but the energy), will start doing the same thing over and over, either as a way out, or a “prove it” mode, or just flop down in a heap, and stop playing altogether, like a child in resistance, or when you go unconscious, and want to check out, take a nap, eat a box of cookies, avoid, avoid, avoid.
Not feel the pain, or the old beliefs that want to come up.
You are not those things either. You have those things, but you are not those things.
The energy of resistance is one thing, or having to fix something or someone, or prove someone wrong, or that it is their fault. Or all the fear that is underneath something. Maybe it is not even your fear. It could be your Mother’s, or your partners.
You can sometimes throw a lot of your energy in the future, in some situation that you are worrying about, which means you are partly there, rehearsing the worst possible outcome.
Just pull your energy out of it. It will help you to become neutral.
Or maybe you have left a chunk of your energy in the past, or in another person. People leave their energy everywhere, in resisting things, and also in things that they love. Same same. It could be that someone else has a lot of their energy in your project, and that’s why you can’t seem to be neutral to it. Ha-ha!
Is it time to lighten up yet? That’s not even yours.
Because there is just so much energy there.
When I meditate, I sit behind my eyes, and flow energy through my body, and connect my body to the center of the planet, through my grounding cord. It feels great, and energizes me. I can then put my attention on some issue, for example, one that I am not neutral to. I am centered, safe, and willing. I just look at it first, I just look at the energy, from a neutral place. I put it outside myself for a bit. I just notice.
Then I usually laugh at myself! It lightens up the situation, and gives me some wiggle room. At some point in the meditation, I start to become neutral to the energy, as I notice things. The first thing I notice, is that, it is just energy.
Then I may notice, the difference of who “I” am, and the energy that I am taking a look at.
I may just pull my energy out of the “issue”, and that can be enough, to become more neutral. Then, I imagine blowing it up a couple of times, exploding it, just to de-charge the whole thing. It gives me a sense of separation, and neutrality. Just like leaving a problem on your desk for a bit, and going for a short walk.
I have so many more choices in how I want to respond, now that I am more neutral.
Teaching these tools is fun, too, and highly rewarding, as I get to watch the faces of people, even the muscles of their face, and body relax, and shine a bit more, when they get it.
Many times it is someone elses energy that can get in the way. Just noticing, and acknowledging it, can make a huge difference!
The energy can simply be deflated, or given back, or thrown in an imaginary stream, or into the earth, to be composted.
I love the feeling of getting “unstuck”, of being neutral. There are many choices for me, my body feels good, and relaxed, and I am not just reacting from an unconscious place, or, worse yet, using up all my precious energy resisting it.
Do you remember a time where you just stopped resisting something that was locking you up in knots, and became neutral, like water flowing? It could’ve been because you fully committed, or owned up to something, it could’ve been because you forgave, it could’ve been because you realized the futility of it all. Or, it just became too painful, or too costly, or, became hilariously funny, that thing that had you tied up in knots.
Being neutral may mean, that you have preferences, but not expectations, or that you are open to possibilities.
That’s where you can create, from that place, of neutrality.
While you are meditating, and clearing your space, if there is a situation, that you are not neutral to, that you are in resistance to, you may want to use this imagery.
Be at the ocean, on the warm sand, with some of your beach toys (remember the fun of being a kid playing at the beach?). One of those toys is a big colander, a big plastic strainer. Thinking about your tense situation, and all that energy stored in it, slowly scoop up a big amount of sand, with your intention. Stand by the ocean, and shake your strainer back and forth, back and forth, while the sand slips away, and goes into the water, or the beach, to be reused.
That’s your energy, coming back to you now.
Breathe it in, and allow, just allow the heavier sand to drop, in no effort. Keep pulling your energy out of the situation, with your breath, each deep breath, as you stand by the beautiful, powerful ocean, with the sunshine warming you, and making rainbows in your eyelashes.
At some point, what is left in your colander, is a rock, or a shell. Let this be either a stuck belief of yours, or perhaps, someone elses energy, in your situation, creating that very stuck scenario. It could be a fear, or a limiting belief, or the need to be right, or simply a different viewpoint. Perhaps it is both, a shell of yours, and a rock, of someone elses.
Just look at them, just name them, just notice. You have pulled your energy out of it, you have already replenished yourself, and you are standing on a sunny, warm beach playing like a child, looking at these objects in your bowl, with holes in it.
Just laugh. Just lighten up. You just got your answer.
Now that you know, you can release, and just be. You are so much more than the energy.
Pick up the items in your strainer, and feel them, and again name them. You are not them. You are going to throw them into the beautiful ocean, with the soft cresting waves, to release them. Before you do, hold them in your hand, and be neutral to them. Just.
Be.
Neutral.
Just be.
Breathe. Feel the warmth of the sun penetrating your body.
It feels so good, to be neutral, with all of your energy in your space. You can relax, and lighten up. Laugh if you want, as you throw the shells, and rocks into the ocean.
Before you end this meditation, allow for softer, creative thoughts to surface in your mind, on ways to create and go forward, in neutrality. In amusement.
In your power.
Come back from your mini journey, refreshed, calm, peaceful, yet alert.
And happy, and neutral, with just a little sand still in between your toes.
May you enjoy your day, in amusement,
choosing love, and gentle blessings,
Helena
